Teacher Appreciation Week
The faculty and staff at Fair Haven Grade School are feeling very appreciated.  We would like to thank the PTA, parents, school board, and administration for all they have done over the course of the past several weeks in recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week.

Social Studies Work Continues

Third grade students will be interviewing teachers and community members over the course of the next four weeks.  The Community History Project Celebration will be held in Montpelier on Monday, May 19th and Mrs. Hunt, Mrs. Owen, Mrs. Markie along with several members of the Historical Society will be on hand to showcase some of the wonderful work our students have done over the past two years.  The entire Fair Haven community is invited to attend this event from 10AM until 2PM on the state house lawn and Vermont History Museum in Montpelier.

The booklet on our history is nearing completion.  If you have not sent in your Fair Haven Journal, but would like to share a favorite story, please contact Ceil Hunt at 265-3883.

Third graders and fifth graders both took field trips this week to the Park McCullough House in Bennington.  These field trips were made available for us through a grant and we want to again thank Mrs. Kearney, our librarian for arranging these trips. The activities surrounding these trips coincides very nicely with the classroom social studies curriculum in both grades.

Read more about worms, woodpeckers, and the wonders of our solar system in this week’s newsletter.
